Hamburg’s fabulous concert hall complex plays host to a rare concert by the renowned Italian mezzo-soprano singing music by Pergolesi (Stabat Mater) and Vivaldi. Barry Kosky’s production of Handel’s Agrippina is at the Staatsoper the following evening with Verdi’s La Traviata completing our stay on the final evening.

Each year and for the last few years, the music of Donizetti and his contemporaries has been celebrated in his hometown of Bergamo near to Milan. This year the festival includes a weekend of music with two of his most well-known comedies either side of the tragedy of Medea by Simone Mayr.
