A weekend visit to Ireland's unique opera festival celebrating some of the more exotic and unjustly neglected operas alongside new works.

The tour begins at the hotel. 


Early booking is essential. 


Day 1 

Meet at Clayton Whites Hotel (where else?) in the centre of the festival city. Welcome drinks and dinner will be taken in the hotel.


Day 2 

During the day there is a lunchtime recital and a matinee performance of Alberto Caruso’s The Master as part of the festival. Please indicate if you want tickets to extra performances

Day 3 

Friday’s matinee performance is Cinderella (2013) by the child prodigy composer Alma Deutscher. Please indicate if you want tickets to extra performances

Tonight’s opera has been praised for its ‘dreamy atmosphere and aromatic orchestration’. The hard-to-please Héctor Berlioz was quick to admire Lalla Roukh and it was almost instantly recognised as the composer’s masterpiece.

Day 4 

A matinee performance of The Spectre Knight by Alfred Cellier - a one-act comedy with libretto by W S Gilbert.

An early dinner precedes tonight’s performance of Dvořák ’s final opera based on Gerusalemme Liberata.
