About us
Heraldic is a small niche company offering a range of exclusive escorted short breaks with visits to opera houses, country houses, galleries and gardens allowing travellers to capture the essence of a place in an unhurried manner.
Each tour is carefully paced to inform, educate and provide time for relaxation and leisure.
All our travellers enjoy the lively mixture of informative talks, visits, meals together and free time to explore or relax. Groups are small and convivial with numbers around 6 to no more than 15. Our goal is your satisfaction and enjoyment.
All our tours begin at the hotel to enable you to make your own arrangements for travel in a way that is flexible for you. Flights are not included, and this is reflected in our affordable pricing. We are happy to advise on restaurants, cafes and places to see during your free time. If you are one of the increasing numbers of solo travellers, you are welcome to join us for meals and visits during any free time as you wish. Our tours are a good way to make new friends and spend time in the company of like-minded people.
Opera tours
Our tour directors for opera tours are professionally trained musicians who share their enthusiasm for the music in informative and entertaining opera talks. They are designed for lovers of opera and those who are keen to experience opera for the first time. Each day is planned to include sightseeing visits to houses, galleries or other places of interest and time for relaxation and fresh air before each performance. No visits are compulsory, and schedules can easily be adapted.
Hotels
Our hotels are selected for their comfort and convenient locations. Almost all our chosen hotels have four stars and provide comfortable rooms and good dining. Occasionally we offer a three-star hotel where the comfort level and service are comparable.
Booking
All bookings can be secured with a deposit by simply sending in the completed booking form together with a cheque or payment by bank transfer. Once your place is secured you will be advised when the tour has reached the minimum number before the balance is due. We usually like to confirm tours around ten weeks before departure.
Single Supplements
Prices shown are per person sharing a double or twin room. Suites and extra rooms may be available for an additional surcharge. Hotel supplement charges are absorbed by us where possible but there will be certain tours on which a single supplement is charged for sole use of a double room.
European tours
We include short opera breaks in European cities. As we live in the age of low-cost air travel our tours begin at the hotel giving you the flexibility of booking from a nearby airport or travelling by rail. We are happy to help with planning your journey and advising the best routes and prices.
We remind travellers that they must hold a passport which is valid for at least six months after your return to the UK in order to comply with the new regulations after Brexit. Total travel to the EU is now restricted to 180 days in any period of twelve months.
